Body Shaming Is Pointless Even Cruel

By Amita Prakash

Body shaming. It’s a term that’s been thrown around a lot lately, and for good reason. It seems like everywhere we turn, someone is being shamed for the way their body looks. Too fat, too thin, too muscular, not muscular enough… the list goes on and on.

But here’s the thing: the shape and form of our bodies is largely out of our control. Sure, we can exercise and eat well, but at the end of the day, our genetics play a huge role in determining how we look. So why do people feel the need to shame others for something they have no control over?

The answer is simple: it’s idiotic. Body shaming is a pointless and cruel exercise that serves no purpose other than to make people feel bad about themselves. And let’s be real, there are enough things in this world that make us feel bad without adding body shaming to the mix.

Body shaming doesn’t just hurt the person being shamed. It hurts all of us. When we shame others for the way they look, we’re perpetuating a culture that values appearance over substance. We’re telling people that their worth is determined by their body shape, rather than their character or accomplishments.

So next time you feel the urge to make a snarky comment about someone’s appearance, take a deep breath and remember that their body shape has no bearing on their worth as a human being.
